Director General of the Department of Customs of Sri Lanka Major General (Retd) Vijitha Ravipriya and a delegation attended the International Customs Forum held from 21-22 October 2021 in Russia.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia organized a meeting with the participation of Hony. Consul of Sri Lanka in Saint Petersburg, the National Crafts Council and the Sri Lanka Handicrafts Board to discuss the possible ways of opening branches of Laksala and Lak Shilpa in line with the establishment of Sri Lankan Houses in several Russian cities.

“SRI LANKAN WEEK – 2021” IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

With a view to promote Sri Lankan culture, tourism, tea, batik, arts and handicrafts, etc. to a wider community in Russia, the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation with the support of Sri Lankan and Russian Authorities, well-wishers in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan Business and Professional Community in Russia will organize a   “Sri Lankan Week” in Russia from 21-27 November 2021.

Ambassador Janitha A. Liyanage received Foreign Secretary Admiral Prof. Jayanath Colombage and delegation, who were in Russia to attend the Bilateral Political Consultations at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow on 07th October 2021. Addressing the staff , the Foreign Secretary while outlining the policy directives of the Foreign Ministry and the GoSL, requested the Embassy to prioritize Economic Diplomacy activities.
