On December 28, 2021, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, a veteran diplomat H.E. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat.

On 28th December 2021, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, a veteran diplomat H.E. Shri Pavan Kapoor.

In the course of the official visit of H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, together with the delegation headed by Hon. Sisira Jayakody, State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Promotion, Rural and Ayurvedic Hospitals Development and Community Health, participated in the ceremonial opening of the Office of the Hony. Consul of Sri Lanka in Saint Petersburg.

Prof. Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage presented Letters of Credence to President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu on 22nd December 2021 as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka concurrently accredited to Moldova at a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Chisinau.

At the invitation of Prof. Igor Stoma, Rector of the Gomel State Medical University, Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Belarus, visited the Gomel State Medical University and held a meeting with the Administration of the University, including Vice Rectors, Deans and others.

At the invitation of Prof. Elena Krotkova, Rector of the Grodno State Medical University (GSMU), Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Belarus, visited on December 08-09, 2021 the GSMU and participated in a number of events organized by the University.
