Meeting of Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism with Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine
On 22 March 2022, the Embassy organized an online meeting between the Moscow State University of Sports and the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine. The meeting was headed by Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia and gathered Prof. Ranjana W. Seneviratne, Vice-Chancellor of the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine, and PhD Nataliya Tkachenko, Vice-Rector of the Moscow State University of Sports and Tourism, and the staff of the two Universities.
The Embassy meets the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs for the discussion of development of the bilateral Trade
The Embassy in the Russian Federation has facilitated a meeting with the representatives of the Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs (MAE) on 23rd of March 2022.
The Moscow Association of Entrepreneurs is the oldest interregional public organization of business leaders and businessmen in Russia, founded in 1989. Entrepreneurs from 51 regions of Russia and foreign countries are represented in more than 50 committees of the Association. Branches and representative offices of the Association work not only in Russian regions and CIS countries, but also in Africa (Morocco), Asia (China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Cambodia), America (Cuba; USA: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Dalaver) and others.

Advisory to Sri Lankan Students in Belarus
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Sri Lanka Embassy in Moscow which is concurrently accredited to Belarus, continues to monitor the situation in Belarus in the context of recent developments in Ukraine.
The Embassy is in close contact with all Universities in Belarus where approximately 1,561 Sri Lankan students are engaged in their higher studies. As agreed at the several meetings convened by the Embassy with the administration of the relevant Universities, representatives of students' associations and parent groups, the Embassy is currently engaged in the facilitation of travel to Sri Lanka via Moscow of those students wishing to temporarily return to Sri Lanka.
In this regard, the Embassy has made arrangements, in liaison with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Belarus, to issue transit visa on an urgent basis for travel via Moscow by such students.
Accordingly, all Sri Lankan students in Belarus wishing to temporarily return to Sri Lanka are kindly advised to travel via Moscow and contact the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow through the following contact details (24x7) for further information.

The Ambassador strengthens the ties with the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation
H.E. the Ambassador, professor Janitha A. Liyanage, was invited for the meeting by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation, Mr. A.V. Gruzdev on 22nd of February 2022 dedicated to the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and the upcoming visit of the delegation of the Ministry to Colombo in the first week of March 2022.
65th Anniversary Sri Lanka Russia Diplomatic Relations
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia held a joint event together with the Russian Association of International Cooperation and Russia-Sri Lanka Friendship Society on the occasion of the 65th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Russia.
