On December 15, 2022, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation H.E. Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage took part in "Our World – XXI century" International Forum for Economic and Cultural Cooperation as a Guest of Honour.

On 12th December 2022 H.E. the Ambassador conducted a fruitful meeting between the Sri Lanka tyres manufacturing plant Ferentino Tyre Corporation and Russia's top manufacturer of commercial vehicles "GAZ", producing light and medium-duty commercial vehicles, buses, engines and over 500 types of special vehicles.

On 13 December 2022, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia conducted an introductory online meeting between the Ural State University of Economics (USUE), Russia, and the University of Vavuniya.

On December 6 - 7, 2022, as part of the business program of the international exhibition "MedTravelExpo 2022", at the site of the scientific and practical conference "Russian Health Week", the largest medical and health tourism event in Russia - the Global Medical Tourism Summit, was held, organized by the Committee for the development of tourism of St. Petersburg and the Convention and Exhibition Bureau of St. Petersburg.
