The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Russia organized on 29 September 2022 a visit of Russian students of the International Relations Programme, Moscow Metropolitan Governance University named after Yury Luzhkov, to the Embassy.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow organized on 28 September 2022 an online meeting between the Chuvash State Pedagogical University (ChSPU), Russia and the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka and the University of Vavuniya.
The meeting, which was opened by Prof. Janitha A. Liyanage, H. E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, gathered Prof. A. Rameez, Vice Chancellor of the South Eastern University, Prof. T. Mangaleshwaran, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya and Prof. Igor V. Kozhanov, Vice-Rector of the ChSPU, as well as the staff members of the Universities.

During the visit to the Russian Federation in September 2022, Hon. Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena and representatives from the Embassy represented Sri Lanka at the International Travel Fair in Russia – Leisure 2022.

A delegation of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) visited Sri Lanka from 25 to 28 September 2022 to conduct introductory meetings with Sri Lankan Universities and official bodies and familiarize with the key principles and methods of teaching Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow is pleased to announce that Aeroflot, the national carrier of the Russian Federation, will resume flight operations to Sri Lanka with effect from the 09th October 2022.
