Ambassador Jayatilleka meets Academician Dynkin, President of the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO)
On 3rd June, 2019 Ambassador Jayatilleka paid his second visit to the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Being established in 1956 the institute has become the oldest and the biggest think tank in Eastern Europe including Russia.
Ambassador Jayatilleka met and had a discussion with Academician Alexander Dynkin, the President of IMEMO and one of the leading Russian specialists in the world economy and international politics, who now chairs the Russian Pugwash Committee at the Russian Academy of Sciences Presidium and the Scientific Council of the Russian Council on Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Jayatilleka receives Sri Lankan Delegation from the Police Medical Service
On May 24-29, 2019 Saint Petersburg hosted the International Police Association gathering and brought together delegates from different countries. The IPA is the largest organization for police officers in the world, founded by British sergeant Arthur Troop in 1950, in order to create a platform for friendship and international cooperation amongst police officers. The association has now 72 national sections and over 360,000 members and associate members.

On May 28, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka accompanied by Madame Sanja Jayatilleka attended a meeting on 'The Indo-Pacific Strategy: A Memo for Eurasia'. The discussion was held at Trialogue Club International, a meeting place for the Russian and foreign diplomats, politicians and experts to discuss foreign and security policies. The meeting is co-organized by the Trialogue Club International, PIR Center and the Institute of Contemporary International Studies of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Requiem Mass Held in Moscow for the Victims of Easter Sunday Massacre with Senior Diplomats and Officials Attending

On May 21, 2019, one month after the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka, the Mass for its victims was celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Holy Virgin Mary, the largest Cathedral in Russia, by His Grace Archbishop Paolo Pezzi, Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of the Virgin Mother in Moscow, in the presence of another Archbishop, His Grace Celestino Migliore, Apostolic Nuncio to the Russian Federation.
