Vesak lanterns workshop for Russian children
In the framework of Vesak celebrations, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow organized a Vesak lanterns workshop for children of a Moscow State School No. 1250.
The 20 pupils of 6th, 7th and 8th grade of the Moscow state school No. 1250, aged 12-14 years took active part in the celebrations of Vesak on 27 May 2021. The event was organized as a part of cooperation between Sri Lanka and the State School No. 1250.

"Vesak", the day of the Full Moon in the Month of May, is the most sacred day to millions of Buddhists around the world commemorate the birth, attainment of enlightenment, and the Passing away of the Lord Buddha.
On this auspicious day, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation wishes that the teachings of the Lord Buddha guide you and blesses you for a healthy and peaceful life.

ARTICLE OF SRI LANKA TEA BOARD ON THE OCCASION OF CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY - 21ST MAY 2021
International Tea Day is a United Nations observance celebrated annually on May 21 to express the economical, biological and physical benefits of tea. It was inaugurated by the General Assembly and essentially replaced the unofficial observance of the same name, which used to be celebrated on December 15 in tea producing countries. The observance of International Tea Day is promoted and facilitated by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in collaboration with other relevant organizations and stakeholders.
