Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane represented Sri Lanka at the BRICS Plus Outreach Dialogue convention held in Kazan, 24 October 2024, following the conclusion of the BRICS Summit 22-24 October 2024.

Following signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Volga Institute of Administration (branch of RANEPA) and Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, on 24 October 2024 the sides held an online working-level meeting.

Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane had a productive meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey A Ryabkov of the Russian Federation on the sidelines of BRICS Outreach Summit.

Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane, accompanied by Ambassador P.M. Amza, Head of Sri Lankan Mission in the Russian Federation, had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Ma Zhaoxu, Member of the CPC Committee of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Executive Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China on the sidelines of the BRICS Outreach Summit in Kazan.

Foreign Secretary A. Wijewardane, who is currently in Kazan to take part in the BRICS Plus Outreach Summit, had a productive meeting with HE Dilma Rousseff, President of the New Development Bank.
