Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism of Sri Lanka Vijitha Herath met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the ASEAN ministerial meetings in Kuala Lumpur. Discussions centered on further strengthening bilateral ties across political, economic, and cultural spheres.

International Tourism Forum organized by the Roscongress held in Moscow from 10 - 15 June 2025. The visit marked a significant step in strengthening Sri Lanka's tourism ties with Russia and expanding cross-border tourism opportunities.
