The staff of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation commenced work for the Year 2025 at a simple ceremony held at the Embassy premises on 09 January 2025. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the Chargé d'Affaires a. i. and singing of the national anthem by the Embassy staff. In line with the national program 'Clean Sri Lanka' launched by the President of Sri Lanka, the staff of the Embassy took the public servants oath to uphold the principles of the Clean Sri Lanka program. Addressing the staff, the Chargé d'Affaires a. i., while extending New Year greetings to the staff, highlighted the importance of continuing to work as a team in providing an efficient and effective service delivery to the public and strengthening Sri Lanka-Russian relations.

On 18 December 2024 Ambassador P. M. Amza, Head of the Sri Lankan Mission in Moscow, accompanied by Mr. Chamila Jayarathna, Minister (Education and Trade) made a visit to the State University of Management.
The Embassy delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Vladimir Stroev, Rector, Ms. Maria Karelina, Vice-Rector, Mr. Alexey Chudnovsky, Director of the Institute of Personnel Management, Social and Business Communications and Mr. Vladimir Filatov, Director of the University Engineering Project Management Center.

On December 17, 2024, the Embassy of Sri Lanka, together with the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), organized a vertual meeting between the Russian entrepreneurs, manufacturers and developers of new technological products based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI), and the Urban Development Authority in order to seek the possibility of facilitating smart city projects in Sri Lanka.

At the invitation of the First Moscow State Medical University (Sechenov University) on 10 December 2024, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow participated in the First Meeting of Foreign Graduates of the University.
