H.E. Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Ambassador met on 20 November 2015 Mr. Sergei Storchak, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation at the Ministry of Finance.
The two sides discussed possible cooperation of the two countries in the economic and financial spheres.

Ambassador H.E. Dr. Saman Weerasinge met on 10 November 2015 Prof. Efim Pivovar, Rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities.
The Russian State University for the Humanities was established in 1991 in accordance with a Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic as the successor to Moscow State History and Archives Institute.

Ambassador meets the Acting Rector of Moscow Aviation Institute
H.E. Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, Ambassador of Sri Lanka met Prof. Aleksander V. Rozhdestvenskiy, Acting Rector of the Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), on 10th November 2015. Moscow Aviation Institute was founded in 1930 to train qualified personnel for the aviation industry. Since its founding, MAI has trained more than 160,000 professionals including several Sri Lankans in aviation, space science, and industry.
