Sri Lanka Navy's Naval and Maritime Academy Delegation (Trincomalee) led by Commodore Kalana Jinadasa, NMA Commandant, accompanied by the Heads of the Academy's Anti-Submarine Warfare, Gunnery and Logistics Programmes, is in Russia this week to inaugurate the series of reciprocal visits of the Sri Lanka Navy Naval and Maritime Academy and the principal Miltary Education & Research Centre of the Russian Navy – the Admiral N. Kuznetsov Naval Academy, stationed in St. Petersburg.

Sri Lankan delegation headed by Thusitha Wanigasingha, Additional Secretary, (Law & Order) participated at the INTERPOLITEX-2019 exhibition, which commenced on October 23, 2019, at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Moscow. "INTERPOLITEX" is the largest exhibition in Russia and one of the largest in Europe, dedicated to the means of protecting state and public security.

On October 22-25, 2019 Mr. Thusitha Wanigasingha, Additional Secretary (Law and Order) of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Defence visited Russia, heading a Sri Lankan delegation at the International Exhibition of Means of State Security Provision "INTERPOLITEX 2019", held in Moscow.
In the course of their visit, the delegates paid a call on Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Moscow, who, in turn, hosted the officials for dinner. During these engagements, the delegates shared their thoughts on the INTERPOLITEX 2019 Exhibition, commending the Russian government on successful organization of an event of such international magnitude, and briefed H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka on the meetings with representatives of Russian authorities.
