Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation Prof. M.D. Lamawansa accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Anas, Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Nirosha Herath, Second Secretary (Cultural matters and Education), Ms. Nayomi Chandrasiri (Education), Ms. Olessya Romanova, Personal Assistant to H. E. the Ambassador and Ms. Yulia Builova, Culture Promotion Assistant, paid a visit to Rossotrudnichestvo, a Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, which operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and is represented in 80 states of the world.

 

 

 

On August 18, 2020 H. E. Prof. M. D. Lamawansa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sri Lanka to Russia, held discussions with Mr. Vladimir M. Platonov, President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the prospects of cooperation between Sri Lanka and the city of Moscow as well as other Russian regions.

Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena assumed duties at the Foreign Ministry on Monday 17 August 2020.

On August 13, 2020 Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation visited Moscow City Clinical Hospital 52 in order to hand over Ceylon tea in gratitude to all doctors and medical staff of the hospital and sincere appreciation of their invaluable efforts in combating COVID-19.
