On December 4, 2019, H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, visited the Higher School of Economics to give what could be his last lecture on the foreign relations and world politics in his capacity as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. During his tenure in Russia, Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka delivered lectures at the most prominent and leading Russian educational institutions, including the well-known Moscow State University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University), famous Peoples' Friendship University (formerly known as the University of Patrice Lumumba), the Higher School of Economics, the Academy of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, and others, participated in a number of very important and representative conferences to discuss the most pressing issues of international affairs and peace and stability in the world.

On December 2, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka accompanied by Madame Sanja Jayatilleka attended a meeting on 'US-Russia Relations: the quest for stability'. The discussion was held at Trialogue Club International. The meeting was co-organized by the Trialogue Club, PIR Center and the Institute of Contemporary International Studies of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On December 1, 2019 H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, and Madame Sanja Jayatilleka attended an annual New Year reception, hosted for Heads of Foreign Diplomatic Missions, accredited to the Russian Federation, at the invitation of Hon. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

On November 30, 2019 H. E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation, accompanied by Madame Sanja Jayatilleka, visited the 31st annual Winter Bazaar – a charity fundraising event, organized by the International Women's Club of Moscow.

On November 29, 2019 H.E. Dr. Dayan Jayatilleka, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, accompanied by Madame Sanja Jayatilleka took part in the evening function dedicated to the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People at the invitation of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow UN Information Center, League of Arab States in Moscow and Embassy of the State of Palestine in the Russian Federation.

On November 29, 2019 a series of Ceylon tea sampling sessions was launched in the Lenta Hypermarket Chain in St. Petersburg, Russia. Tea Promotion Unit of the Sri Lankan Embassy in the Russian Federation in collaboration with Lenta Hypermarket Chain, one of the largest Russian hypermarket chains, rolled out the sampling session program with the objectives of promoting Ceylon Tea brands, which carry the Lion Logo – the symbol of genuine Ceylon Tea – and are available in the shelf of the Lenta hypermarket chain. Accordingly, during the series of the sampling session, Ceylon Tea brands, such as Basilur, Dilmah and Hyleys are being promoted.
