The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow celebrated Vesak on 05 May 2023 by offering 'Gilanpasa & Buddha pooja'. The Embassy premises was decorated with colourful Vesak lanterns, Buddhist flags and lights.

In the middle of April the Saint Petersburg branch of the Russia-Sri-Lanka Friendship Society celebrated Sinhala and Tamil New Year - 2023. The Society invited the citizens and guests of Saint Petersburg to share the holiday with them, told the visitors about Sri Lanka, its history and customs and treated them with traditional Sri Lankan New Year dishes, as well as famous Ceylon tea.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka is planning to participate in the International Forum Best Investment Projects 2023.

The forum will bring together on one platform Otkritie Investments Top 500 investors from Alfa-Bank, FINAM and SOVCOMBANK offline and online.
The Investment Forum will present the best international investment projects relevant in 2023.

On March 17th The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau have conducted a large-scale tourism promotional event in the frame of the official visit of the Chairman of the Bureau for participation in the international Travel Fair MITT 2023, which was held in Moscow from March 16 to 18, 2023.

On 26 April 2023, in the framework of the Forum of Rectors of Russian and Foreign Universities held within the programme of the XIII Eurasian Economic Youth Forum in the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia, the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ural State University of Economics (USUE).
