On August 25, 2020 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Russian Federation accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Anas, Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Nirosha Herath, Second Secretary (Cultural matters and Education), Ms. Nayomi Chandrasiri (Education) held a meeting with Administration of the State-Funded Educational Institution "Moscow City School No. 1250" represented by its Principal Mr. Vasily V. Murzak, and Deputy Principal Ms. Elena V. Sharkàdi.

Ambassador Prof. M.D. Lamawansa emphasized the long-standing friendly relations established between Russia and Sri Lanka over the decades, underlining the history and vast opportunities for developing valuable collaboration of the countries in the sphere of education.
The Principal of the school spoke about the interaction of the school with foreign educational institutions, and the English language oriented syllabus. Mr. Murzak mentioned that the school has the Governing Council and the Chair of the Council is Ms. Maria Zakharova, Director of Information and Press Department, spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Lamawansa and Mr. Vasily Murzak agreed that despite the pandemic there are various options to establish links between Moscow city school and the relevant educational institutions in Sri Lanka on student-to-student level and in online format of teaching techniques exchange with practicing hours for teachers of both Russian and English languages. Special attention was paid to development of joint cultural projects, which could become possible when the pandemic is defeated. It was decided to arrange presentations on particular information about the countries, youth life, schools' activities and resources as the first step to achieve the goals.
