The Sri Lanka Russia Friendship Society together with Russian Centre in Colombo, the Cultural Section of the Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka with Dr. Saman Weerasinghe, the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Russia Friendship Society and the former Ambassador of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation have arranged to provide assistance required by the students who are currently studying in the Russian Federation.

As the first step, Sri Lanka Russia Friendship Society has distributed hand sanitizers and dry food packs among the students studying at Peoples Friendship University and Russian National Research Medical University (2nd Moscow State Medical University).

Charge d'Affaires of Sri Lanka in Russia Mr. Mohamed Anas, Second Secretary of the Embassy Ms. Nirosha Herath, and Student Coordinating Officer of the Embassy Ms. Nayomi Chandrasiri have provided a list of 148 students and the Sri Lanka Russia Friendship Society will arrange the distribution of said items within next 2 days.

 Another 1000 hand sanitizers have been arranged to be distributed among the students who are in other cities through partner organizations. The Masks will also be distributed very soon.

If any student is in need of assistance of any sort, we will attempt to lend a hand in whichever way possible.
