On September 25, the Russian Ministry for North Caucasus Affairs hosted a meeting dedicated to the perspectives of economic development as well as to the development of tourism in the territories of the North Caucasus.

The meeting was attended by Ambassadors and other high-ranking diplomats from 30 foreign missions in Moscow. Notably, this newly-established Russian Ministry has been located, since May 2018, in a historical building which was occupied by the People's Сommissariat of Nationalities in 1920ies, and was the residence of Joseph Stalin and his spouse.
The Heads of Missions visit to the Ministry for North Caucasus Affairs was one of the series of familiarization visits to Russian Government bodies, organized thanks to the unprecedented initiative of the Russian Foreign Ministry's State Protocol Department.
Addressing the gathering, H. E. Sergey V. Chebotaryov, Minister for North Caucasus Affairs, highlighted the development of the North Caucasian Federal District of Russia and its investment opportunities in such areas as agriculture, industry and tourism. The Chechen Republic, the Republic of Ingushetia, the Republic of Dagestan, the Territory of Stavropol as well as other Russian federal entities integrated into the North Caucasian Federal District are experiencing a noticeable growth and are well-supported by the Government of the Russian Federation which fosters the investment policies in those regions. Recovered from its past conflict, the Chechen Republic currently enjoys a peaceful and prosperous development.
Besides its beautiful mountains, the North Caucasus is proud of its 7 renovated airports, new and refurbished railways, as well as well-equipped car roads.
