The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation together with the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Sri Lanka Export Development Board organized the first session of B2B meetings which facilitated one of the largest fresh fruits and vegetables suppliers of Sri Lanka to meet online the Russian traders in Ural region of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was graced by Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, H.E. the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russian Federation and Mr. Andrey Besedin, the President of the Ural CCI. During the official session H.E. the Ambassador and the President of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry mentioned that this opportunity was created during the online meeting which had with both parties in July 2020.
The first session of the online B2B meeting was held on 27 November 2020 with the participation of C.R. Export Company of Sri Lanka and five Russian trading companies including catering company, retail chains and wholesalers in Ural region while the second session was held on 30 November 2020.
As a result of the meeting the participants agreed to exchange the contact details and continue the discussion of the collaboration aiming at bringing a positive impact on the trade between the two countries.
