National Day of Mourning declared in Sri Lanka on April 23

The Government of Sri Lanka has declared April 23 a National Day of Mourning in connection with a series of bombings that happened in the country on Sunday, April 21. According to the latest data, the explostions took lives of more than 290 people, and more than 500 were injured. Among the victims are citizens of the United States, Britain, China, Japan, Australia and India.
Moreover, the police curfew has been imposed from 8.00 pm (April 22) to 4.00 am (April 23).
Young Russian students form “WE ARE WITH YOU” with candles at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Moscow in solidarity
On April 21, 2019 a group of young Russians gathered in front of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow to pay tribute to those killed in several explosions that happened in Sri Lanka, claiming lives of over 200 people.
The visitors laid out a phrase "WE ARE WITH YOU" to show their support and empathy to the Sri Lankan community.

On 18 April 2019, Sri Lankan students were awarded for the best dancing performance at the annual Youth Festival "My Country," organized by the Moscow Automobile & Road Construction State University (MADI), Moscow. One of the most fascinating parts of the event was the traditional dancing number of the Sri Lankan students who study at MADI, which won the award for the best dancing performance. During the concert, Sri Lankan students also entertained the audience by singing a Sinhala song.
