This visit will be an important step toward strengthening collaboration between Sri Lanka and Russia in the health sector including in pharmaceuticals.

The Russian Federation is a prominent destination for Sri Lankan students pursuing higher studies mostly in medicine. The Government of the Russian Federation has granted 100 scholarship opportunities annually for Sri Lankan students choosing Russia as a higher education destination.

Ms. Mihiravi Dissanayake, Counsellor and Dr. Eduard Salakhov, Director of the Department for International Cooperation and Public Relation of the Russian Ministry of Health were also present at the meeting.
