The Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, attended the XI International United Cultures Forum held in the Grand Catherine Palace located in the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum in St. Petersburg. The event brought together, Ministers, academics, artists, representatives of international cultural organizations to foster dialogue and strengthen cooperation. 67 countries have made their presence in the Forum.

President Vladimir Putin delivering the keynote address focused on the importance of culture as a unifying force in a rapidly changing world. He highlighted that cultural and humanitarian area was one of the priorities for Russia in terms of international cooperation and Russia would make every effort to incorporate ideas and proposals when working with partners across all international organisations where Russia maintains an active presence – including the SCO, BRICS, and other multilateral associations.

Minister of Culture of Sri Lanka engaged with the participants highlighting the country's rich history, emphasizing its role as a bridge between Sri Lanka and the wider international community.

Dr. Sunil Senevi also seized the opportunity to meet and discuss areas of cultural cooperation with the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Madam Olga Lyubimova. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural ties to consolidate bilateral relations between the two nations.
