Tea Masters Cup is a young but dynamically developing competition between best tea masters from all over the world.

It is conducted in order to generate high tea culture, professional development and exchange of experiences between professionals, who work in tea companies and catering. Also it helps to improve the quality of tea and a service culture in places where tea is consumed, as well as for the promotion of tea culture among consumers. By now the championship was held in Australia, Belarus, Canada, Italy, Latvia, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries.

Russian qualifying round of the championship was held at Sokolinki Park Exhibition & Convention Center in Moscow from 01st to 02nd March 2016 in parallel to the Russian Coffee & Industry Event 2016.

In partnering with Russteacoffee Association in Russia (Organizer of Tea Masters Cup), Sri Lanka Tea Board with assistance of Sri Lanka Embassy in the Russian Federation became the proud General Sponsor of Tea Masters Cup Championship in Russia 2016. During the competition, 10 straight-line garden marks Ceylon Tea sourced from seven agro-climatic regions ( Nuwara Eliya, Udapussellawa, Dimbula, Uva, Kandy, Sabaragamuwa and Ruhuna) were used by the tea masters to show their talents under the categories of Tea Preparation, Tea Paring and Tea Brewing. During the event, an opportunity was available for trade visitors, visitors from HORECA sector and general public to taste and evaluate the best Straight-line Garden Marks Ceylon Tea such as Kenmare (FBOP), Liddesdale (BOPF), Queensberry (OP1), Somerset (PEKOE), Adawatte (OP1), Craighead (FBOP), New Vithanakanda (OP1), Wewelkandura (FBOPFEx. Special), Dellawa (BOP1) and Tea Bank (FF EX.sp). The event was an ideal platform for the promotion of specialty teas among HORECA Sectors, Tea Houses, and Tea Bars etc.
