On the invitation of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General A.W.J.C. De Silva and Rear Admiral D.M.S. Dissanayake of the Sri Lanka Navy visited St. Petersburg to participate for the seventh “International Maritime Defence Show IMDS-2015” from 01st to 05th July 2015.
The Show is one of the world leading exhibitions in the field of shipbuilding and naval armament. Two Deputy Ministers of Defence, nine Commanders of Naval Forces and other high-ranked officials visited the Show as official delegations from 39 countries.
After the exhibition Commander of the Army made a brief visit to the Sri Lanka Embassy in Moscow and officials of the Embassy took the opportunity to bid farewell to the former Deputy Chief the Mission.
